ITCA requires you to re-certify after 2 years for you to retain your official certified status.

- To ensure the triathlon community has the best possible coaches providing sound coaching advice and safety
- To continually and appropriately update the knowledge and expertise of all ITCA certified coaches
- To provide accountability and the highest level of professionalism for the sport of triathlon, and ITCA as a leader in triathlon coach education
- To maintain continuity with techniques and methodologies of triathlon coaching
